Sexual Abuse Therapist

Salary: $110,110 - $114,984 + Super + Salary Packaging

We are excited to welcome a part-time (0.8FTE) Sexual Abuse Therapist to our Carins Sexual Abuse Counselling Service team! In this specialist therapeutic role, you’ll provide trauma-informed, culturally safe support that helps young people heal, build safety, and strengthen family connections. Working closely with caregivers, schools, and key stakeholders, you’ll play a critical role in early intervention and prevention; supporting safer futures for children, families, and the wider community.

• Level 6 SCHCADS Award.
• Salary range: $110,110 - $114,984 + Superannuation.
• Part-time [0.8FTE], Government funded contract opportunity until 30 June 2028 with possible extension.

• Deliver impactful therapeutic support: Provide trauma-informed assessment and counselling to children and young people experiencing or displaying harmful sexual behaviours.
• Promote safety and prevention: Develop safety plans, deliver protective behaviour education, and work closely with families to reduce risk and strengthen protective networks.
• Support whole-of-family outcomes: Build strong, collaborative relationships with caregivers, schools, and stakeholders to improve wellbeing and long-term outcomes.
• Grow your expertise in a specialist space: Participate in supervision, case discussions, and ongoing development while contributing to a high-quality, evidence-based service.

• Hold a relevant tertiary qualification (allied health, social work, human services) with professional registration (if required) and, a membership in a professional association (desirable).
• At least two (2) years’ experience working with children, young people and their families in similar therapeutic roles.
• Eligibility to work in Australia (proof of eligibility required), including holding or obtaining required checks (Working with Children Check or professional exemption).
• Current driver’s licence.
