We act as recruiters for East Sydney Day Hospital Pty Ltd. East Sydney Day Hospital Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled full-time Perioperative Registered Nurse to join their team.

• Competitive salary of $77,000 to $ 90,000 plus super, depending on experience

Task & responsibilities

• Deliver holistic and individualised nursing care, giving consideration to the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of the patient.
• Ensure that treatments are monitored and reported to the visiting medical practitioner, including all relevant deviations from clinical pathways in use.
• Accept full responsibility for the perioperative nursing care of patients assigned to their area, including admission and preparation.
• Responsible for monitoring the condition of patients and organising the necessary medical intervention.
• If required, scrub for all surgical procedures assisting the surgeon as directed.
• Perform scouting duties and assist anaesthetist when not scrubbing.
• Treat all patients with respect & equality, whilst being responsive to their needs.
• Encourage relatives to participate in continuing care.
• Comply with NSW Health requirements, hospital policies and By Laws.

Qualification & experience

• Registered Nurse qualification with AHPRA registration
• Relevant bachelor degree or higher qualification
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience
• Ability to accept full responsibility for the  perioperative nursing care of patients assigned to their area, including admission and preparation
• Knowledge of infection control
• Excellent communication and patient care abilities
