We are seeking a motivated and innovative Agricultural and Agritech Technician to join our growing team. This role combines traditional agricultural expertise with modern technology solutions to support efficient, sustainable, and productive farming operations. The successful candidate will work closely with farmers, farm managers, researchers, and agribusiness stakeholders to implement and maintain advanced agricultural technologies while supporting crop production.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine topographical, physical, and soil characteristics of farmland to determine optimal land use and identify nutrient deficiencies.
- Assist in developing and implementing improved methods of planting, fertilising, harvesting, and processing crops to maximise productivity.
- Identify pathogenic microorganisms, insects, parasites, fungi, and weeds affecting crops and assist in developing effective control measures.
- Analyse agricultural produce to establish and maintain quality standards.
- Develop, operate, and maintain agricultural technology systems and equipment, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Coordinate the supply of agricultural chemicals and provide guidance on their safe and effective use.
- Collect, manage, and analyse agricultural data for research and production monitoring purposes.
- Provide advice to producers on farming techniques, management practices, production processes, and technology adoption.

Agricultural and Horticultural Mobile Plant Operator (ANZSCO 721111)
We are seeking an experienced Agricultural and Horticultural Mobile Plant Operator to support our broadacre cropping operations. This role is responsible for operating and maintaining modern agricultural machinery used in wheat, barley, canola, and linseed production.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, inspect, and position tractors, self-propelled boom sprayers, and associated equipment for safe and efficient field operations.
- Operate tractor-drawn and self-propelled agricultural machinery to cultivate land, sow crops, apply fertilisers, pesticides, and herbicides, and assist with harvesting activities.
- Operate boom spray equipment to apply agricultural chemicals, herbicides, pesticides, and liquid fertilisers in accordance with application plans and safety requirements.
- Calibrate, adjust, and monitor boom spray systems to ensure accurate application rates and optimal crop coverage.
- Assess weather conditions, crop requirements, and field characteristics to determine suitable spraying operations and minimise spray drift.
- Mix, handle, and load agricultural chemicals in accordance with workplace procedures and safety standards.
- Monitor equipment performance and make operational adjustments to maximise crop protection and productivity.
- Maintain detailed records of spraying activities, chemical usage, equipment maintenance, and daily operational activities.
- Conduct routine servicing, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs to tractors, sprayers, and associated machinery.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, environmental regulations, and biosecurity procedures.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience operating agricultural machinery within broadacre cropping operations, particularly wheat, barley, canola, and linseed production.
- Ability to safely operate and maintain tractors, seeders, sprayers, harvesters, front-end loaders, and grain handling equipment.
- Experience in all stages of crop production, including paddock preparation, seeding, fertiliser application, spraying, harvesting, and grain storage activities.
- Knowledge of cropping practices, soil management, weed control, and crop nutrition.
- Ability to calibrate and operate seeding, spraying, and fertiliser application equipment.
- Experience conducting routine servicing, maintenance, and minor machinery repairs.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and environmental compliance obligations.
- Ability to identify crop health issues, pest infestations, weed outbreaks, and machinery faults.
- Experience with GPS-guided machinery, auto-steer systems, and precision agriculture technology.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team during peak seasonal periods.
- Strong record-keeping and organisational skills.
- Current driver's licence.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
- Certificate III or higher qualification in Agriculture, Rural Operations, Horticulture, or a related field.
- Forklift, ChemCert, or heavy machinery licences/tickets.
- Knowledge of grain quality standards, grain storage management, and harvest logistics.
- Basic mechanical and welding skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
