We are seeking a reliable and motivated Dairy Cattle Farm Operator to join our dairy operation. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with practical farming skills who enjoys working with livestock and contributing to the day-to-day success of a dairy farm.

As a Dairy Cattle Farm Operator, you will use your skills and experience to carry out routine dairy farming activities, supporting livestock health, farm productivity, and overall operations. You will follow established procedures while applying basic problem-solving skills and sound judgement across a range of farm tasks.

Task & responsibilities

• Carry out daily milking routines in accordance with farm procedures and animal welfare standards
• Assist with livestock care, including feeding, monitoring animal health, and general handling of dairy cattle
• Perform haymaking and fodder-related activities to support livestock nutrition
• Complete fencing, repairs, and general farm maintenance tasks as required
• Operate basic farm machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
• Identify and respond to routine issues affecting livestock, equipment, or farm operations
• Follow workplace health, safety, and biosecurity procedures at all times
• Support overall dairy farm operations with an understanding of how individual tasks contribute to production outcomes

Qualification & experience

• Previous experience working on a dairy farm
• Basic mechanical and maintenance skills
• Ability to operate farm machinery
• Ability to follow procedures and work independently when required
• Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and attention to detail
• Understanding of animal welfare and safe farming practices
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
