Fishing Hand or Deck Hand

The position is for a Fishing Hand or Deck hand to work in an established Fishing business, based in Lakes Entrance. The fishing business catches gummy shark and octopus in the waters of Bass Strait.

The duties are those of a Fishing Hand or Deck Hand:

Manage ropes and moorings

Perform lookout and watches and communicate course

Routine maintenance and checks

Offload catch and cargo

Mend gear

Assist with meal preparation on board

Qualification & experience

Two years experience overseas or one year of Australian experience

A first aid certificate

The candidate must hold a safety and rescue certificate compliant with international conventions
