Our Engineering team in Edinburgh, South Australia, is seeking an experienced and motivated Mechanical Engineer / Draftsperson to join our growing business.
About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for producing high-quality detailed engineering drawings and 2D/3D models for lifting and rigging solutions. You will work closely with engineers and project teams to deliver accurate, compliant, and production-ready designs while supporting job control workflow.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop 2D and 3D models using AutoCAD and Inventor
· Produce detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and BOMs
· Design products in line with relevant Australian Standards
· Interpret engineering calculations and convert into practical designs
· Ensure drawings are fully dimensioned and suitable for manufacture
· Coordinate with engineers and manufacturing teams to verify design details
· Prepare drawings within budgeted hours and project timelines
· Assist with technical documentation and engineering reports
· Conduct drawing checks and updates as required
· Maintain strong communication with the Engineering Project Manager
· Contribute positively to team collaboration and continuous improvement
· Collaborating with external suppliers and the internal sales team to estimate competitive project costs, while also providing technical engineering and sales support for inquiries from both internal and external clients.
· Contributing feedback and responses to general engineering questions.
· Additionally, offering consistent support for the project workflow processes and utilising the company ERP system to ensure successful project delivery outcomes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
· Relevant Mechanical Engineering qualification, trade background, or equivalent experience
· Strong experience in AutoCAD and Inventor
· Previous hands-on and design experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
· Understanding of fabrication, machining, and production processes
· Knowledge of quality assurance and engineering documentation
· Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
· Well-developed communication and organisational skills
· Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
Desirable:
· Experience with Pronto (ERP system)
· Exposure to job costing in a manufacturing environment
· Intermediate to advanced Excel and MS Project skills
