Work Type: Full-time, 38 hours per week (Flexible shift: typically, 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
Overtime: Saturday OT available
About the Opportunity
Are you a trade-qualified Fitter looking for a stable workshop role with an industry leader? We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our close-knit, collaborative workshop team. Working alongside a team of experienced fitters and apprentices, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and precision of our industrial gearbox servicing and assembly.
With a highly desirable day shift (most of our team works 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM), you can reclaim your afternoons while still having access to optional Saturday overtime to boost your earnings.
Key Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Fitter, your day-to-day will involve:
Inspect and diagnose industrial gearboxes returned for service, repair, or warranty.
Assembling, rebuilding, and converting gearboxes according to specific technical work orders.
Testing and carrying out final quality checks on all completed jobs to maintain high standards.
Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues during the repair process.
Accurately documenting inspection findings and repair recommendations.
Promoting a "Safety First" culture by adhering to OHS policies and keeping a clean, organised workspace.
What We Are Looking For
Requirements:
Trade Qualification: Must hold a relevant trade qualification (e.g., Certificate III Mechanical Fitter / Trade Certificate).
Experience: Ideally 2+ years of experience in mechanical fitting.
Specialised Knowledge: Experience with industrial gearboxes or similar equipment (pumps, motors, shafts, heavy rotating equipment also considered)
Attributes: High attention to detail, a methodical approach to problem-solving, and a team-focused attitude.
Physical Capability: Ability to safely lift loads up to 20kg and utilize lifting equipment properly.

Nice-to-Haves (Desirable):
Current Forklift Licence.
Current Crane/Dogging Licence.
