Aambianz Pty Ltd is a leading provider of sun‑control, ventilation and balustrade solutions for the construction industry. Our product range includes Ventilation Louvres, Architectural Louvres, Acoustic Louvres, Solar Shading Systems and Perforated Screens.
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to support our engineering, production and installation teams. Prior manufacturing experience is preferred but not essential. Candidates with the ability to interpret drawings, support production teams and provide technical guidance will be highly regarded.
About the Role
The role suits someone who is hands on, technically strong and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will work across mechanical design support, testing, production planning and site coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with mechanical design calculations, component selection and technical reviews
Conduct mechanical tests, measurements and performance evaluations
Prepare technical reports, maintenance schedules and equipment documentation
Support installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of mechanical plant
Select tools, equipment and materials for production
Assemble and install mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools
Estimate material quantities, costs and machine requirements
Perform and supervise field and laboratory tests
Collect and analyse data, prepare diagrams and carry out technical computations
Organise and supervise inspection and maintenance of machines and plant
Ensure designs and completed work meet specifications, regulations and contract requirements
Monitor and ensure production plans are completed on time
Establish standards for installation, modification, quality control, testing and maintenance
Conduct site inspections to ensure optimum performance
Create and maintain production schedules
Evaluate the condition of production equipment.
Skills & Experience
Diploma or higher-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, with 3 - 5 years of work experience.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems and engineering fundamentals
Experience with mechanical testing, measurement tools and instrumentation
Ability to prepare technical documentation and maintenance plans
Knowledge of workshop safety and machinery standards
Ability to interpret and communicate engineering drawings to production teams
Understanding of production planning processes
Familiarity with fabrication and installation of aluminium panels, louvres, balustrades and façade elements
Strong communication skills with the ability to raise technical queries and resolve discrepancies
Awareness of trends and technologies related to louvres, sunshades and façade systems
Knowledge of steel/aluminium structural elements (brackets, baseplates, posts, sheet metal, channels, fixings etc.)
Experience preparing fabrication drawings for building façades (louvres, sunshades, perforated panels, cladding etc.)
Ability to interpret civil/architectural drawings and develop optimised connection designs
CAD experience (AutoCAD or similar)
Ability to prioritise tasks according to production schedules
Experience with computer and electronic equipment is an advantage.
