About the role

The Coordinator, Gravel Maintenance is responsible for planning, programming, and delivering routine and scheduled maintenance across Council’s unsealed road network. You will be dedicated to completing works to a high standard, within approved budgets, and on time.

This role provides leadership for day‑to‑day operational activities and oversees minor construction and rehabilitation projects. It includes conducting inspections, prioritising defects, and ensuring accurate and effective use of maintenance management systems. The Coordinator also fosters strong working relationships with technical staff, other Council departments, contractors, and the community.

With a strong emphasis on safety, leadership, and high‑quality service delivery, the role is integral to maintaining Ipswich’s unsealed road infrastructure and supporting positive outcomes for the community.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, programming and delivery of routine and scheduled maintenance services
  • Undertake inspections and initial investigation of defects on infrastructure
  • Organise and coordinate the day‐to‐day operations/activities for maintenance, minor construction and rehabilitation projects
  • Assist with the preparation of the yearly budget forecast

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Certificate III or IV in Local Government (Operational Works), or equivalent qualification and/or extensive experience in civil maintenance or related fields
  • Current Queensland C class driver’s licence
