The role of a Building consultant is to provide sound decision making and preparation for upcoming work in relation to claims made. A building consultant will conduct forensic building inspections to ensure that contractors complete rectification works to a compliant standard and cost. They are responsible for administering full scope of works, causation reports and ensuring the quality of work.

What are my accountabilities? 

  • Conduct comprehensive building inspections to assess structural integrity, compliance with regulations, and identify potential risks or defects.

  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation outlining findings, recommendations, and remedial actions for clients and stakeholders.

  • Provide expert advice and guidance to clients, architects, and contractors on building regulations, materials, and construction best practices.

  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and industry professionals to ensure all projects meet legal and safety standards.

About you:

  • Qualified carpenter of builder, with strong knowledge of building codes and construction standards, with the ability to interpret and apply them effectively

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in preparing technical reports and presenting findings to clients.

  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
