Driver & Maintenance Support Officer
St John's Crisis Centre – Gold Coast
Part Time (potential to become Full-Time)
St John's Crisis Centre is seeking a reliable, hands-on team member to support our food rescue, logistics, maintenance and welfare operations across the Gold Coast.
This is a varied and active role suited to someone practical, organised and community-minded.
Key Responsibilities
Food Rescue & Logistics
Drive the work van to collect donated food from approx. 12 supermarket bins.
Regular pickups from schools and other organisations.
Deliver school lunches to a local school.
Purchase non-perishable food and cleaning supplies as required.
Collect one-off donations.
Distribute excess clothing to other charities.
Assist with rubbish removal.
Welfare & Program Support
Assist Welfare Manager with ordering goods and stock control.
Support Christmas hamper production and seasonal programs.
General duties as directed by the Manager and Welfare Manager.
Maintenance & Property
Minor maintenance at two locations.
Coordinate trades (plumbing, electrical etc.) when required.
Weekly/fortnightly mowing at outreach centre.
Cleaning and upkeep of the Centre.
About You
A current car licence is required to operate work vehicles.
Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting.
Basic handyman/maintenance skills.
Reliable, organised and able to work independently.
Committed to supporting vulnerable members of the community.
Working with Vulnerable People check to be obtained within 3 months of commencement.
This part-time role may transition to full-time as we grow. Your work will directly support individuals and families in crisis across the Gold Coast.
