Position Information

Rouse Hill Public School is located in the rapidly growing North West region of Sydney. The current student enrolment of 890, includes a Support Unit consisting of two Multi-Category and three Autism classes. The teaching staff consists of a mixture of experienced and early career teachers. The school caters for an increasingly culturally diverse student population. 50% of students have a language background other than English. 17 students identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

One of four bilingual schools in NSW, all students are provided with the opportunity to learn Mandarin. Our school provides extensive opportunities in sport, performing arts and extracurricular groups, and promotes a strong focus on developing respectful, responsible and resilient young members of the community. Rouse Hill Public School enjoys a strong relationship with its interested and active P&C Committee.

Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with needs including; ASD, intellectual disabilities and/or diverse behavioural needs, K-6 Evidence of strong interpersonal skills with a capacity to build & maintain positive, inclusive, relationships with students, staff & famlies Outline your experience to plan for and support, multiple complex needs & behaviours How do you use data & reflection to evaluate student progress & plan responsive programs? How do you differentiate curriculum & assessment for students with intellectual, physical, or emotional disabilities? What strategies do you use to foster independence, communication, & social skills in students with needs?

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
