Gumdale State School Parents & Citizen’s Association are currently looking for Permanent Part Time Educators to join our passionate team. If you enjoy having fun, are enthusiastic and love working with children, then we want to hear from you.

At Gumdale OSHC, we provide before school care, after school care, and vacation care for up to 345 children.

A day in the life of an OSHC Educator…

  • Providing nurturing care for children

  • Ensuring a safe, secure and welcoming environment

  • Create fun recreational and educational experiences that are inclusive for all

  • Maintain positive working relationships with all team members

  • Work collaboratively within an established team to ensure the best outcomes for children and families.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous OSHC/school-age care and/or Childcare experience;

  • Understanding of the OSHC environment;

  • A passion for the education and care of school aged children in a play-based setting

  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, families and your teammates

  • Good oral and written communication skills;

  • Food preparation experience (desirable)

  • Certificate III in School Age/Early Childhood Education/Education Support/Youth Work or other equivalent qualification as recognised by ACECQA

  • Other equivalent qualifications include: Completion of greater than 1 year of full time University studies in: Education, Creative Arts, Drama, Music, Community Services, Behavioural Science, Nursing, Speech Pathology, Social Work, Sport & Recreation

  • This position requires availability for split shifts; with operating hours 

6:00am–9:15am (Before School Care)

1pm–6:00pm (After School Care)

Optional 6–8 hour shifts during school holidays

  • Knowledge of national quality framework, My Time Our Place is desirable.

  • Hold a current Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check)

  • Hold a current First Aid and CPR certificate (or able to obtain) (desirable)
