As a Child Care Worker at Nature Kids Childcare Centre, the primary responsibility is to support the development and well-being of children by providing care, education, and emotional support in a safe and nurturing environment. Task & responsibilities

Duties: 

  • Provide day-to-day care for children, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Assist children with daily activities such as feeding, dressing, and personal hygiene.
  • Monitor children’s development, including observing their learning, behavior, and interactions with peers.
  • Implement age-appropriate learning activities to stimulate cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
  • Create a safe environment for children to play, explore, and learn, ensuring the safety standards are consistently met.
  • Maintain records of children's progress, including reports on behavior, development, and milestones.
  • Encourage positive social interactions among children to promote teamwork, cooperation, and sharing.
  • Develop individual care plans based on children’s needs, ensuring personalized attention and support.
  • Supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being during indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Support children with special needs by providing tailored care or support as required.
  • Assist with basic educational tasks, such as teaching numbers, letters, colours, and shapes.
  • Provide emotional support to children who may be experiencing separation anxiety or other emotional challenges.
  • Work with other childcare professionals, including teachers, psychologists, and social workers, to address the needs of children.
  • Provide guidance and discipline using positive reinforcement techniques to manage behaviour.
  • Assist in preparing and serving meals, ensuring they meet dietary needs.
  • Keep the child care facility clean and organised, ensuring toys, equipment, and supplies are in good condition.
  • Participate in meetings with parents, teachers, and other caregivers to discuss children’s progress and needs.
  • Maintain child care certifications and attend professional development sessions to stay updated on best practices.
  • Encourage physical activity to support children's physical health and fitness.
  • Assist with the transition to school or other care arrangements as children approach the appropriate age.

Qualification & experience

  • Certificate III and Higher in a relevant or related field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the related field.
  • Ability to lead and work within a team under pressure during peak hours.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Time management to prioritize tasks
  • Manage children's needs and behaviors calmly and effectively.
