The opportunity
We are seeking a QA Officer to join our team to provide guidance and technical support on the design and, execution of robust quality management processes for our business.
Reporting to the QA Manager, this is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive team to ensure that all products are safe and consistent while meeting or exceeding any agreed customer standards, regulatory requirements and consumer expectations.
As a Quality Assurance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our products meet and exceed the highest quality and food safety standards. Your main responsibilities will include conducting daily food safety and quality checks throughout the production process, from receival to dispatching, in line with our established procedures. You will be instrumental in maintaining the compliance of our quality management and food safety systems to the utmost standard.
Job Responsibilities:
Conduct daily food safety and quality checks during receival, processing, finished products, storage, and dispatching in production floor.
Monitor and enforce GMP practices, temperature checks, quality and integrity inspections, allergen management and pre-op checks as required to maintain exceptional standards.
Check the checker, regarding QC Officer and production performing work and document as per company food safety manual
Work closely with the QA manager, production managers, Supervisors and team members both production and quality to ensure compliance to our quality system
Inspect labels during processing and packing to ensure accurate information and correct labelling on products
Trouble shooting- Assisting production, QC/QA with any process or product quality checks
Take part in internal instrument calibration to ensure accurate measurements.
Investigate, resolve and monitor non-conformances, including internal and external complaints, and implement corrective and preventative actions
Issue corrective action and preventative action requests when necessary
Perform internal audits like glass and brittle audit, GMP audits and other scheduled audits
Assist/ participate in external audit
Perform bucket walks for loose items
Collect swabs during pre-operation checks and gather samples for external testing
Communicate out-of-specification results to relevant production Supervisors, maintenance, and QA teams to facilitate corrective action
Conduct training for staff on induction, GMP, and other food safety and quality topics
Routinely verify quality records to maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation. And escalate immediately if any issue identified to take corrective and preventative action
Act as a backup for the night shift Quality Control, QA Officer and QA Manager when required
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for both processes and products
Day to day QA report writing
Continual improvement- process and product
Involve in annual testing requirement as per SQF like Mock recall, Traceability exercise, Food defence, Crisis management when needed
Assist in pest control, approved supplier program, product label check as per required
Assist in SQF requirement and other customer requirements
Assist in label making in bar tender when required
Involve in maintaining of traceability information
This position is suited to someone with basic experience with qualifications in Food Science, Microbiology or similar. Candidates that can demonstrate initiative, creativity and knowledge of the food industry will be highly regarded.
