Senior Manager Environment

Drive planning outcomes for Sydney’s most complex transport infrastructure—lead statutory delivery, influence policy, and shape city-defining outcomes.

In this role, you’ll:

Lead specialist advice on the environmental management, embedding best practice and continual improvement across Sydney Metro projects and the wider organisation.

Provide strategic and technical leadership to a high-performing team of environmental specialists and consultants, to ensure organisational environmental obligations and outcomes are understood, delivered and reported on.

Shape organisational environmental and sustainability processes, systems and policy by embedding consistent, compliant and efficient approaches that meet program, budget and stakeholder requirements.

Provide technical guidance and support to project team members where required.

Partner with key stakeholders—including government agencies, councils and the community—to influence outcomes, resolve complex issues and deliver innovative, integrated planning solutions aligned to NSW Government priorities.

About you:

You are tertiary qualified in an environmental, natural resource, planning, environmental engineering or similar discipline, or equivalent experience.

You have proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams delivering environmental advisory services to support large scale infrastructure projects. A strong understanding of relevant legislation, policy, environmental impact assessment and environmental management practices is critical.

You can collaborate with and influence senior stakeholders across government, industry and community environments. You bring project management skills, with experience managing consultants, contracts and concurrent project demands.
