Disability Support Worker (Youth & Adult) – Logan/Scenic Rim

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Disability Youth Support Workers to join our team. This role involves providing tailored supports to children and young people with complex care needs and challenging behaviours. You will play an essential role in helping participants achieve their goals, while ensuring their safety, dignity, and wellbeing are prioritised.

Employment:

  • This position is classified under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services (SCHADS) Award – Level 3.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide proactive, energetic, and flexible support tailored to each client’s needs and goals.

  • Support children & adults with disabilities in daily activities, such as school attendance, community outings, sports, fishing, swimming, and other recreational activities.

  • Ensure participants’ safety at all times, both at home and in the community.

  • Confidently manage behaviours of concern and implement Positive Behaviour Support Plans.

  • Assist participants with communication, including the use of Augmented Communication Aids.

  • Work collaboratively within a team to deliver person-centred, NDIS-aligned support.

  • Maintain compliance with Child Safety Service Standards and NDIS mandatory reporting requirements.

About You:
You’ll be the perfect fit for this role if you’re:

  • Passionate about working with children & adults with disabilities and helping them achieve their goals.

  • Empathetic and patient, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Adaptable, with the ability to work a 24/7 roster (including weekends, sleepovers, and awake shifts).

  • Physically active, comfortable supporting participants in community and recreational activities.

  • Experienced in managing behaviours of concern and familiar with Restrictive Practices.

Requirements:

  • Certificate 4 or higher in Disability, Youth Work, Individual Support.

  • Current QLD driver’s licence.

  • Current First Aid Certificate and CPR (or willingness to obtain).

  • Current Positive Notice Blue Card (Working With Children Check).

  • Current NDIS Worker Screening (Yellow Card).

  • National Criminal History Check (or willingness to obtain).

  • Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office/Outlook/Teams.

Award and Remuneration:
This role is covered under the SCHADS Industry Award.
