About the role

Midway Marine is seeking an experienced Service Advisor/Spare parts person to join our dynamic team at our Rockingham WA location. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and managing the service operations of our marine business. As a Service Advisor, you will be the primary point of contact between our customers and our technical team, ensuring that every service interaction is professional, efficient, and leaves customers satisfied with their experience. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence in the automotive trades and marine services industry.

Key responsibilities

1. Greeting customers and conducting initial consultations to understand their service requirements and concerns

2. Documenting detailed service requests and vehicle/vessel information into the management system

3. Providing accurate cost estimates and timelines for service work to customers

4. Communicating with the technical team to ensure work is completed to specification and on schedule

5. Managing service schedules and coordinating customer drop-off and pick-up arrangements

6. Following up with customers to confirm satisfaction with completed service work

7. Processing payments and managing invoicing for completed services

8. Maintaining detailed records of service history and customer preferences

9. Identifying opportunities to recommend additional services or maintenance to customers

10. Ensuring compliance with all safety standards and company policies

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience working as a Service Advisor or in a similar customer-facing role within the automotive trades or marine services industry

2. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly to customers with varying levels of knowledge

3. Proficiency with service management software and computer systems

4. Excellent organisational and time management abilities to juggle multiple service requests

5. Customer service orientation with a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional experiences

6. Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle customer concerns professionally and tactfully

7. Knowledge of marine or automotive systems and components is highly advantageous

8. A professional appearance and demeanour, as you will be our customer-facing representative

9. Ability to work as part of a team whilst also managing responsibilities independently

10. Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
