National Compliance Manager

Based out of our stylish Mount Waverley office, this new and exciting opportunity will help shape the future of our homes. As a key technical leader, you’ll provide expert guidance on building methodology, regulatory compliance and technical documentation.

Your recommendations will drive best practice, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, all while maintaining strict compliance with regulatory requirements and company construction standards. Reporting to the National Product Commercialisation Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Review and implement all National Regulation and Standard changes
• Identify and monitor areas of non-compliance including recommendations for contingency planning
• Develop and implement change management plans for each regulatory update
• Support and contribute to delivering new product Construction Details to the business in full and aligned with product release schedule.
• Undertake regular review of applicable actions listed in the strategic plan to ensure each is completed as described in the plan
• Review of build methods and detailing and provide support to review details prior to issue to the business
• Advise of upcoming changes required to ensure continued compliance of our products and build methods
• Monitor and report on the status of the implementation of business support tools, to ensure regulatory change compliance
• Contribute ideas that improve the quality, cost effectiveness and ease of construction.
• Liaise with Construction & Operational teams nationally
• Research product & innovation opportunities to ensure all new initiatives meet Metricon building practices
• Ensure details match construction methods used, via site visits & or liaising with Construction team, recommending changes to details
• Review all product improvements and site instructions for compliance prior to adoption
• Support the business on quality control and training of changes to compliance requirements; and
• Conduct stakeholder meetings when required and contribute to team meetings to ensure design impact of changes to compliance requirements is understood

The successful candidate will have:

• Exceptional understanding of the NCC, Australian Standards for Residential Building elements, and other building code reference documents.
• High level of Construction method knowledge, both practical and technical
• Leadership / Confident / Enthusiastic
• Attention to detail
• Innovative mindset
• Time management – planning & organising
• Ability to easily build rapport
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, questioning and probing); and
• Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
