As part of its strategic growth agenda and following successful expansion in Europe ,North America and Asia, Rabobank established its Energy Transition mandate in Australia and New Zealand in 2023. Following success to date, we are now looking to expand the Energy Transition Coverage team to actively support an existing client set, deliver cross sell and continue to grow through new client acquisition. About The Role This is a high-profile Coverage Banking role within Wholesale Banking Australia & New Zealand (RANZ), designed for a driven individual who wants to help expanding our footprint in a sector that is strategically critical for the bank. You will play a leading role in establishing and scaling Rabobank’s Energy Transition franchise, managing an existing and growing a portfolio of complex clients while originating and leading the execution of landmark transactions across corporate bank debt, project finance, sustainable finance, debt capital markets, risk management and structured solutions with the support of experienced portfolio management and product teams. Working in close partnership with the Head of Energy Transition Coverage, you will help shape and deliver Rabobank’s Energy Transition strategy in the region, leveraging our global balance sheet, deep sector expertise and international network. This role offers significant autonomy, visibility and influence, combining client relationship ownership with hands-on origination and execution. Key Responsibilities Originate, develop and manage an existing portfolio of high-value Energy Transition clients including origination of new client relationshipsLeverage existingDrive new business origination and cross-sell opportunities across:Corporate and structured lendingProject financeSustainable finance solutionsRisk management and working capital productsLead end-to-end transaction execution, including credit submissions, approvals, legal processes and documentationDevelop and deliver client strategies in collaboration with product partners and global coverage teamsAct as the senior relationship lead for clients, engaging confidently with CEOs, CFOs, Treasurers and SponsorsIdentify and originate syndicated and club transactions with acceptable credit metrics and returnsActively manage portfolio risk, client concentration and return outcomesRepresent Rabobank externally as a trusted, knowledge-driven partner and organise client engagement eventsLeverage Rabobank’s global network to share best practices, structures and client solutionsDemonstrate strong leadership of deal teams and “one team” collaboration across Wholesale Banking About You You are a driven, commercially astute senior banker with deep sector experience and a strong origination track record. Qualifications & Experience Degree in Finance, Economics or a related discipline10+ years’ experience in Corporate or Institutional Banking with a strong network within the energy sector that will further support the Bank with establishing its presence in the regionProven energy sector banking experience and a strong origination and cross sell track record.Strong background in structured and corporate lending, including credit, legal, tax and compliance aspectsDemonstrated success in originating and executing complex transactionsExperience presenting and negotiating debt solutions at CEO, CFO and Treasurer level Knowledge & Skills Deep understanding of the Australian Energy Transition markets and key stakeholdersStrong knowledge of debt products, market conditions and sustainable finance solutionsExcellent credit analysis and transaction structuring capabilityStrategic thinker with strong commercial judgementHighly effective communicator with strong influencing and stakeholder management skillsProven ability to build trusted, long-term client relationships What we are proud to offer you: A competitive remuneration package, will be offered for the successful candidate.
