Adelaide Metro Operations (AMO) is the proud maintainer of Adelaide’s tram network, delivering safe, reliable and efficient rolling stock and infrastructure maintenance services under a long-term maintenance-only contract.

We are seeking a commercially astute and strategically minded Finance Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is a full-time, Adelaide-based leadership role with broad accountability across financial governance, compliance oversight and operational performance.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager and forming part of the SLT, the Finance Manager provides strong financial leadership and strategic oversight across the business.

This role is responsible for ensuring robust financial governance, delivering forward-looking financial insight, and protecting AMO’s compliance and contractual interests. You will work closely with operational leaders across infrastructure, signalling and fleet maintenance to drive disciplined financial management and support sound decision-making.

The role also provides direct oversight of procurement, inventory and contract financial governance, ensuring strong financial discipline across supplier engagement and operational delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead AMO’s financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting

• Provide strategic financial insight to the Board and Senior Leadership Team

• Maintain strong financial governance, statutory compliance and internal controls

• Oversee procurement, inventory and contract financial governance to protect AMO’s commercial interests

• Provide financial oversight of infrastructure and fleet maintenance contracts, including claims and variations

• Strengthen risk management, cash flow visibility and working capital performance

• Lead and develop the finance team, embedding accountability and discipline across the business

About You

You are a confident and commercially capable finance leader who thrives in complex, contract-based environments. You will bring:

• CA or CPA qualification

• 5+ years’ experience in senior financial management roles

• Strong financial modelling, forecasting and analytical capability

• Experience interpreting complex financial and contractual information

• Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder engagement capability

• Experience in asset-intensive, capital or contract-driven environments

Experience in rail, transport, infrastructure, utilities or heavy industry will be highly regarded.
