Job Description

Our client is a privately-owned group of companies within the mechanical services sector based in Brisbane. Their dedicated team is committed to delivering high quality commercial and industrial projects.


They are seeking an experienced Financial Officer with at least 5 years’ experience to support their high‑performing finance team and drive accuracy across accounts, reporting, and compliance functions.

About the Role

As the Financial Officer, you will play a key part in managing end‑to‑end accounts functions, ensuring accurate financial processing, reconciliation, and reporting. You will support operational teams across multiple divisions, maintain financial controls, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.

This role suits someone with strong technical accounting skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable, including RCTIs, payment claims, AP invoices, retention updates, and EOM processing.
  • Complete daily and monthly bank reconciliations, plus credit card, Motorpass and toll account management.
  • Maintain accurate cashflow forecasts, balance checks, FBT reporting, fuel usage reports, and financial documentation.
  • Enter and approve invoices in Pronto, update project and supplier records, and maintain insurance and WorkCover details.
  • Support Pronto workflows to ensure timely processing across multiple divisions.
  • Prepare staff expense reimbursements, new project setups, and new account forms.
  • Assist with audit queries, client billing support, and year‑end financial processes.
  • Provide occasional reception support and ensure smooth AP workflow during peak periods.

About You

You will bring:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a finance, accounting, or senior account’s role
  • Strong understanding of AP, AR, reconciliations, and financial workflows
  • Experience with Pronto (highly regarded) or similar ERP systems
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem‑solving
