About the Opportunity
Step into a key regulatory role where you will lead inspections, provide expert guidance, and contribute directly to CBS’s compliance and enforcement outcomes. As a Senior Compliance Inspector, you will be at the forefront of field operations in the tobacco and vaping sector, engaging with traders, licensees and the community to ensure compliance with legislation administered by CBS. This role plays an important part in maintaining public safety, supporting fair trading, and upholding integrity within these regulated industries. You will work closely with inspectors, investigators, law enforcement and other regulatory partners, applying sound judgement, managing risk in dynamic environments, and helping to deliver consistent, high quality regulatory outcomes.

About the Business
The Attorney-General’s Department (AGD) provides a range of legal, regulatory and other services for the government and people of South Australia. Consumer and Business Services (CBS) is a division of the Attorney-General’s Department and is responsible for protecting consumers, supporting and regulating businesses and recording significant life events for South Australians. CBS is customer focused and flexible in its activities, providing accessible information and services. CBS employs around 220 staff and our primary purpose is to facilitate business, protect consumers and record life events. CBS constitutes a large part of South Australia’s business/consumer regulatory system and is the regulator for many businesses and professions.
