We’re looking for a skilled Server Support Engineer to support and maintain server, cloud, and virtualised environments across customer systems in a fast‑paced managed services environment.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical issues, working across modern infrastructure platforms, and delivering reliable, secure, and high‑quality outcomes for customers. You’ll work closely with internal teams and customers to support day‑to‑day operations, escalations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Role OverviewSupport and resolve server‑related incidents, requests, and escalations
Maintain and support Windows & Linux servers, virtualisation platforms (VMware / Hyper‑V), and cloud services including Azure and Microsoft 365
Troubleshoot performance, capacity, and configuration issues
Manage identity and access services including AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP, and MFA
Perform patching, updates, system health checks, and vulnerability remediation
Monitor infrastructure and respond proactively to alerts
Support backup, restore, disaster recovery testing, and resilience initiatives
Assist with system deployments, upgrades, migrations, and customer onboardings
Maintain clear documentation, runbooks, and ITSM ticket updates
Work directly with customers and collaborate with service desk, network, and project teams
Essential
Experience as a Server Support Engineer, Systems Administrator, or similar role
Strong troubleshooting skills across server, virtualisation, and cloud platforms
Experience working in a managed services or enterprise environment
Solid knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, VMware, Hyper‑V, Azure, and Microsoft 365
Experience with AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP, identity and access management
Strong analytical skills with a customer‑focused approach
Desirable
PowerShell or automation experience
Relevant certifications (Microsoft, VMware, Azure, CompTIA Server+)
