The Role

Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the month‑end process, support project financial reporting, manage the Fixed Asset Register, and provide leadership to the Finance Officer responsible for Accounts Payable.

  • Perform detailed reconciliations across key accounts, reviewing FY‑to‑date transactions to identify and resolve allocation discrepancies
  • Oversee AP function and provide guidance to a Finance Officer, ensuring accuracy and control
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and support P&L variance analysis
  • Deliver accurate and timely month‑end close and management reporting
  • Prepare and post journals including accruals, prepayments, allocations, and depreciation
  • Assist with preparation of the monthly EOM reporting pack
  • Support BAS/GST processing and payroll‑related accounting requirements
  • Extract and analyse data from ERP systems and related sources
  • Ensure project financials are accurate and reliable for forecasting purposes
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register including additions, disposals, and transfers
  • Process monthly depreciation journals and ensure capitalisation compliance
  • Support process improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies
About You

You are a technically capable accountant who thrives in a hands‑on environment and enjoys supporting both finance and operational stakeholders. You bring strong attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work effectively under deadlines.

  • Previous experience in a Senior Accountant or similar role
  • Strong understanding of month‑end processes, reconciliations and journals
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • CPA/CA qualification or currently working towards completion
  • Exposure to project‑based, construction, contracting, or services environments (highly regarded)
