Permanent Melbourne role managing financial accounting in a super fundKey leadership role leading a small team of professionals CA/CPA qualified with super or financial services experience preferred About The Company A well regarded Melbourne based superannuation fund with a strong member focus is seeking an experienced Financial Accounting Manager to join its finance function on a permanent, full-time basis. About The Role Reporting to senior leadership, this is a broad and impactful role sitting at the heart of the fund's financial operations. You will lead a small team and take ownership across financial reporting, statutory accounts, APRA reporting, audit and compliance. This an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who is up to date on accounting standards, technically strong and who wants genuine ownership across the accounting function. Key Responsibilities Include Leading the preparation and delivery of financial statements and statutory accounts in accordance with relevant accounting standardsOverseeing cash flow management, liquidity monitoring and banking relationshipsPreparation of board packs for reviewCoordinating the external audit process and acting as a key point of contact for auditorsEnsuring compliance with APRA prudential standards and other relevant regulatory obligationsGeneral ledger management including reconciliationsLeading, coaching and developing a team of accounting professionalsSupporting continuous improvement of financial processes, systems and controlsPartnering with senior stakeholders across the business to provide financial insights and analysis About The Candidate CA or CPA qualified with solid post qualification experience in a financial accounting or reporting roleExperience within superannuation, financial services or a regulated environmentStrong technical accounting knowledge including experience with statutory reporting and relevant accounting standardsProven people leadership capability with the ability to develop and motivate a teamExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsA proactive, detail-oriented approach with the ability to manage competing priorities This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-ownership finance role within a purpose-driven superannuation organisation.
