Role Overview
Our Corporate Managed Services (CMS) team is a bespoke one-stop, outsourced finance solution designed for businesses without an in-house finance team. Clients benefit from specialised expertise, improved risk management, increased efficiency, and access to experienced local talent - without the costly overheads.
This role is best suited to a Junior Management Accountant or Client Bookkeeper who is looking for the next step in their career within a diverse and sophisticated offering.
As a CMS Advisor within the CMS team, you will work closely with clients and internal accounting staff to deliver services across accounting and bookkeeping, payroll, BAS compliance, Virtual CFO advisory, and Corporate Secretarial support. This is a varied, hands-on role with genuine client exposure and the opportunity to develop across a broad range of advisory and compliance functions.
This role would suit a candidate with a strong generalist accounting and bookkeeping background who is comfortable working in a client-facing, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping
• Accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Periodic reporting
• Preparation of general-purpose financial statements
• Preparation of business activity statements
Payroll
• Cloud-based payroll processing (Xero and MYOB)
• Employer registrations and employee onboarding
• Facilitating payments and regulatory compliance
• Xero onboarding and conversions
Tax Compliance
• Indirect taxes and income tax returns
• Fringe benefits tax returns
• Payroll tax
• Liaison with regulatory bodies (ATO)
Virtual CFO Advisory
• Liaise between client and relevant Partner on financial queries
• Financial forecasting and planning including budgets, cashflow and financial models
• Performance analysis to improve profitability and growth through business metric tracking
• Board and investor reporting
General Duties
• Liaison with clients, internal staff and external stakeholders
• Research and reporting on related tax matters
• Attendance and contribution to internal technical training
Essential Skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong planning, organising and time management skills
• Effective written and verbal communication, including client-facing correspondence
• Information and task monitoring across concurrent client engagements
• Problem analysis and sound judgement
• Developing client relationship management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Proficient in Xero, MYOB and other cloud-based accounting software
• Proficient in payroll processing and payroll file analysis
Experience
• Accounts payable/receivable practices, principles, and reconciliation
• Professional management accounting tasks, including financial reporting, performance analysis and financial modelling
• Payroll administration and processes
• Experience applying the Fair Work Awards system
• Developing experience in client management across a portfolio
• Familiarity with outsourced or managed services environments
• Minimum 1 year in a bookkeeping or management accounting role
Qualifications
Cert III in Bookkeeping/Business Administration; OR
Diploma in Accounting and Bookkeeping; OR
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
Current Xero Certification is required at the time of application
