ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our high-performing Finance team based in Melbourne CBD. This is a full-time, 6-month fixed-term opportunity reporting to the Financial Controller.
In this role, you will support finance and accounting activities across Australia and New Zealand, contributing to accurate reporting, compliance, and efficient financial operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform daily bank and account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Support Accounts Receivable, including payment allocation, monitoring terms, and managing outstanding debt
Prepare weekly cashflow reporting
Liaise with customers, clients, and external stakeholders
Manage corporate credit card reconciliations and Capex capitalisation
Assist with month-end activities, including journals and balance sheet reconciliations
Support tax compliance (BAS, ITR, FBT)
Maintain accurate records and ensure adherence to policies and procedures
ABOUT YOU
You will bring:
2–3 years’ experience in an Assistant Accountant or AP/AR role
Progress toward CA/CPA (desirable)
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
Well-developed communication skills and a collaborative approach
Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and take ownership
Solid MS Office skills, particularly Excel (experience with Dynamics Navision advantageous)
