About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Sydney team on a 9‑month fixed‑term contract, covering maternity leave.

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with leadership, managing day‑to‑day finance operations, and supporting a multi‑entity, professional services environment.

You’ll work closely with the CFO, People and Office Manager and Senior Leadership team to ensure continuity, accuracy, and strong financial insights during the leave period.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting operations across multiple entities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, reports, and reconciliations

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management

• Oversee accounts receivable and payable, including follow‑ups

• Prepare and lodge BAS

• Run payroll and manage payroll compliance, including superannuation

• Ensure compliance with statutory and internal financial obligations

• Maintain financial data integrity across Xero and ERP / finance systems

• Support process improvements and system efficiencies

• Collaborate with Senior Leadership team and prepare monthly invoicing

What you will bring to the team

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Senior Accountant in a commercial (in‑house) role

• Experience supporting a business in the professional services industry

• Strong experience working with multiple company/entity structures

• Hands‑on experience using Xero (essential)

• Exposure to ERP or integrated finance systems

• Intermediate Excel skills, including reconciliations, reporting, and data analysis

• Strong attention to detail with a practical, delivery‑focused mindset

• Confident communicator who works well in a collaborative team environment
