Assistant Accountant

Sydney Olympic Park | $80,000 + Super | Progression Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Assistant Accountant to join the finance team of a well-established organisation based in Sydney Olympic Park. This role offers excellent exposure across core accounting functions and is ideal for someone looking to further develop their career in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with month-end close activities including preparation of journals, accruals, prepayments and recurring entries
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and assist with depreciation processing
Support the preparation of financial information for internal reporting and external stakeholders
Assist with year-end reporting requirements and audit processes
Prepare and issue invoices,
Reconcile bank accounts and credit card transactions
Post regular general ledger entries and assist with weekly revenue journals
Reconcile transactions to bank statements
Support rebate reporting processes
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function

Skills & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
Minimum 1+ years' experience in an accounting or finance role
Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems
Ability to interpret financial information and identify trends
Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities
