$45 - $50 per hour + Super

Our client is a national real estate investment and development group and they are looking for an Accounts Payable Contractor who will be responsible for supporting the finance team with invoice processing, vendor management, and timely payment execution. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and efficiency within the AP function.

Duration: Temporary contract for 6 -12 months
Hours: Part time – 30-40 hours a month with peaks in business days 7-12 and business days -4 to -1
Start Date: Immediate

Key responsibilities

Payment Processing

• Prepare and schedule monthly payment runs.
• Process EFT, wire transfers, BPAY, or cheque payments (as applicable).
• Ensure timely payment of vendors to maintain healthy supplier relationships.

Vendor & Internal Communication

• Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account status.
• Maintain positive and professional communication with suppliers.
• Work with procurement and department managers to resolve billing discrepancies.

Reconciliation & Reporting

• Perform AP reconciliations, including vendor statements and AP aging.
• Maintain accurate and organised records for audit readiness.
• Cash flow management

Compliance & Systems

• Follow internal controls, financial policies, and audit requirements.
• Support data entry, document management, and digital filing.
• Use and maintain financial systems (Netsuite, Payem and Gobbill)

Your Skills

• Demonstrated experience in Accounts Payable or similar finance role.
• Strong understanding of invoice processing, payment cycles, and accounting fundamentals.
• Proficiency in AP/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Familiarity with Australian GST rules
• Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
