Accountant

About the role:

Prosperity Consultants is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to manage daily financial records, prepare invoices and reports, reconcile bank accounts, and assist with payroll and tax documentation. The role requires at least 1 year of accounting experience and strong attention to financial accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate financial records by recording and organising daily financial transactions for company and client accounts, ensuring all entries are properly documented and maintained.
• Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure financial records for both internal and external accounts are accurate and up to date.
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and client review.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and related documentation in accordance with accounting standards and compliance requirements.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice preparation, payment tracking, and follow‑up on outstanding client balances.
• Assist with payroll administration by maintaining employee payment records and supporting timely salary processing across client accounts.
• Monitor and record operational expenses to ensure proper classification of transactions for each business supported.
• Prepare and organise documentation required for BAS lodgements, taxation compliance, and other statutory reporting obligations.
• Maintain accurate data within accounting software systems such as Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks and ensure all financial information is correctly recorded and reconciled.
• Assist taxation and management accountants with budgeting, financial analysis, and preparation of forecasts to support organisational and client financial planning.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in accounting, finance, or a similar role.
• Relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience using accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or similar systems.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate financial records.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
