ACCOUNTANT

Task & responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate general ledger entries, journals, and reconciliations
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and payment processing
• Reconcile bank accounts and financial statements
• Prepare periodic financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
• Assist with budgeting and cash flow monitoring to support operational planning
• Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and regulatory bodies as required
• Maintain compliance with Australian accounting standards, GST requirements, and reporting obligations
• Analyse financial performance and provide insights to support business decisions
• Support payroll processing and related compliance functions
• Monitor and track fleet and logistics-related expenses for accuracy and control

Qualification & experience

• Relevant Qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline 
• Minimum 1 year experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within transport/logistics or similar sectors
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) and MS Excel
• Experience with BAS, GST, and end-of-month closing processes
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking and organisational skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
